Easy Peasy Risotto with tomatoes and leeks

Written by Jiny on .

This time I tried to make some risotto with tomato and leek, without too many difficulties :D I love risotto but I haven’t made risotto for ages, so I therefore decided to make some today for dinner, and for my lunch tomorrow. Also made an extra serving for one of my colleagues – can’t wait to get the feedback from her :D

Bye-bye 2016, Hello 2017!

Written by Jiny on .

Hello lovelies!

First of all: A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! <3

I hope you had a great New Year’s Eve, and came into the new year safely ;)

I have been waiting for this year, and was so happy about it. The funny part is, that I since my graduation never has been so excited for the New Year as I was this time. Maybe because 2016 was a huge disaster to me, and so many others, that I really wanted it to an end very quickly. Also the last month of the year started off so badly, as I got a concussion, and had to stay away from work for 3 weeks. The 3 weeks were not so funny, and starting at work again was quite difficult, and I have been very tired. Luckily I’m feeling better now :)

As I was staying at hope for 3 weeks, my sweet colleagues sent me this beautiful bouquet:

                       dec16 2

Looking apart of this, December has been a quiet month and I’ve enjoyed the last 2 weeks of December at work. That was actually the time I started to enjoy the places in Aarhus (I’ve always hated this city!).

                       dec16 3

                       dec16 4

                       dec16 5

I don’t celebrate Christmas, but this time everything was so different, and I actually felt a bit “Christmas-ish” inside myself. I got several gifts from friend, but what really touched me was this cute gift from my student. I think it’s a blessing to have people like this, who actually keeps thinking about you, and keeps remembering, that you are important to them <3

                          dec16 7

Also enjoyed Christmas Eve with this yummy Danish dish – Risengrød. I love it!

                          dec16 8

I celebrated New Year’s Eve with my bestie, and we had a nice time. We just went for a walk, and enjoyed watching all the beautiful fireworks.

                          dec16 9

2016 has been a year full of lessons and difficulties in many people’s lives. Even 80% of the people I know have been suffering throughout the year, and I’m just happy that they all made it. This just reminds me, that life goes on, and you just have to accept the challenges and come back stronger.

I’m praying for 2017 to be a beautiful year to all of you. I hope you’ll get some great, unforgettable moments and stay happy :)

God bless <3

One pot tomato and chickpeas deliciousness

Written by Jiny on .

For the today’s dinner I decided to make a one pot dish, with loads of protein and some yummy veggies. You might know, that I really love aubergines and tomatoes too, so I decided to make a mix with these. It is actually something I tried at a cafe long ago, and I liked it so much. So I decided to make something like that – on my own, and you now what? The dish came out very well! ;)

I actually made a large amount of it, so that I also can have it some for my colleague W and I, for the lunch tomorrow. I hope she’ll like it too :)

Okay, Aarhus Street Food

Written by Jiny on .

I had my bestie on a visit last weekend, and we went on to try Aarhus Street Food one of the days. Aarhus Street Food opened on the 19th of August this year, and is placed at Ny Banegaardsgade 46. It is a combination of several small cuisines, and the places has already got some good reviews, regarding the food. We went on to see the different cuisines, but I would say that the prices are not really ”street food”.

We decided to try something from the Mexican Donkey. I bought a vegetarian burrito, filled with some tasty red cabbage, avocados and some other veggies. It was pretty good, not too good compared to the price.

I’m not really sure, if I’m going to visit Aarhus Street Food again – maybe, I’d like to taste something from the Tatashe too! :P

#New In: Sept ’16

I usually get my makeup checked up every 4-5 months, but I totally forgot everything about it, and therefore didn’t buy any new makeup the past few months. I therefore took some time last weekend to get a check up and some tutorial in make up. I’ve been using Bobbi Brown since 2015, and I’m so happy about it. Love their make up, and it’s so easy to work with. I normally buy my make up at the Magasin store in Aarhus, but I decided to go to Salling this time, as I know there is a very good make up artist, who really takes time to find the perfect colours for your skin, and even takes loads of time to help you in adding them and etc. She recommended me to get a make up-check twice a year instead, as my skin doesn’t change that much in tones. I’ve had troubles in finding the perfect colours, as I’m brown-skinned with cool undertones, but I feel, that I this time finally got some professional help in finding the right colours :)

Let’s have a look on what I bought (yes, I also bought the Shower Fresh scent from Clean, as I’ve started loving their perfumes ;)

Skin Foundation Stick – Golden Honey, 5.75

Retouching Wand – Medium to Dark

Perfectly Defined Long-Wear Brow Pencil – Espresso, 5

Blush – Slopes, 17

Note: I actually tried both no. 5.5; 5.75 and 6 sha
des Foundation Sticks, and the 5.75 was the one which matched my skin tones perfectly.

As you may know, I am a big fan of Bobbi Brown Make Up, and also have several Eye Shadow Sticks too ;)

And here’s a selfie – but with no good lighting, unfortunately!
